The City Council has approved improvements to Camino de Estrella that will make it easier to get on and off Interstate 5.
Council members voted unanimously last week to award a contract to Geoscene Construction Inc. of Escondido for about $416,000 to improve the street between the freeway and Camino El Molino. The project will add a lane on eastbound Camino de Estrella to provide access to the northbound Interstate 5 onramp. The street also will be widened east of the onramp. The contract will cover all sidewalk, traffic signal, landscaping and median modifications.
