Long Beach Keeps Streaking, Defeating Cal Poly, 100-92

Ramel Lloyd scored 26 points Saturday as Long Beach State held off a late surge by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and defeated the Mustangs, 100-92, in a Big West Conference game at San Luis Obispo.
It was the sixth win in a row and 21st in 22 games for the 49ers (23-4, 15-1 in the Big West), giving them momentum entering the conference tournament on Tuesday in Reno, Nev.
Cal Poly (10-18, 5-10) trailed by 18 points in the second half but rallied and tied the score, 89-89, with 3:40 remaining. The 49ers used an 11-3 run to secure the victory.
Four players scored in double figures for the Mustangs. Chris Bjorklund and Mike Wozniak each had 25 points. Jeremiah Mayes scored 16 and David Henry added 13 for the Mustangs.
