Inglewood Schools

* Re “Inglewood Writes the Book on Success,” April 30: It makes me happy to hear that Inglewood schools are in the top rank of California’s new Academic Performance Index. I am glad to hear something good about Inglewood, because every time Inglewood is in the news, it is portrayed negatively. We rarely hear the positive things that are happening in Inglewood.

Just because you are a minority and live in a poor area, you can still be successful and learn. We should learn the different teaching techniques that are used in the Inglewood schools so that we can incorporate these techniques into other schools that are not doing so well academically and be able to obtain the same results. We also need to train teachers and give them the necessary tools to meet the needs of the students.
