La Habra Heads North to Play Volleyball

La Habra is the only Orange County team left in the girls’ volleyball state tournament, and the Highlanders make a trip north to play at Bakersfield Centennial, the top-seeded team in Division II, at 7 tonight.
La Habra (21-2) is led by Keao Burdine, a 6-foot outside hitter who has committed to USC, and Kristina Baum, a 6-2 sophomore middle blocker. La Habra defeated San Diego Point Loma in three games in a first-round match Tuesday.
Centennial (20-2) defeated South Torrance in three games Tuesday after winning its sixth Central Section championship last weekend.
Centennial is led by Lauren Westendorf, a 6-0 middle blocker who has signed with Oregon, and juniors Jackie Bernardin, a 5-6 outside hitter, and Alyssa Lantz, a 6-1 middle blocker. Lantz is the younger sister of Kelli Lantz, who plays at USC.
