An old locomotive shed being demolished at a railroad station in northern India collapsed on workers, killing at least 25 people, officials said. At least nine people were hurt in the building collapse in the town of Tundla in Uttar Pradesh state, said V.K. Mittal, the state’s home secretary. Three of the injured were in serious condition, he said. The building was an abandoned British-era structure that had begun to crumble because of heavy rains over the last few weeks, local authorities said in a report sent to Uttar Pradesh officials. The concrete roof collapsed as soon as workers began to pull the building down.
