The Northridge football team opens Big Sky Conference play Saturday against Northern Arizona at North Campus Stadium. All nine Big Sky teams are in action, with Montana playing a nonconference game at home against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Montana is ranked 10th in NCAA Division I-AA. Ninth-ranked Portland State, coming off its first victory over a Division I-A team, last week’s 45-20 upset victory over Hawaii, plays at 25th-ranked Sacramento State.
Northern Arizona, ranked No. 23, will play without receiver Francis St. Paul, the Big Sky’s second-leading receiver last season. St. Paul was suspended for the first four games after playing while academically ineligible last season.
