7:30 TONIGHT SAN CLEMENTE HIGH
This would appear to be a romp for Esperanza, which struggled early but showed a lot of firepower in defeating Upland, 28-14. Meanwhile, injury-riddled San Clemente is down in the dumps after an embarrassing opening-game loss at Wildomar Elsinore. Esperanza Coach Gary Meek said he hopes to keep the Tritons down. “They’re bruised and battered, but I think they’re going to come out breathing fire,” Meek said. The Tritons will be healthier than last week as two starters return to the lineup. But tight end/defensive end Justin Tomerlin is doubtful with a hip flexor/groin strain.
