Northrop Grumman Corp. filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell $2 billion in securities.
The Century City-based company said it would use the net proceeds from the sale for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures, acquisitions and working capital.
Northrop Grumman also said it won’t close its $2.6-billion offer for Newport News Shipbuilding Inc. until at least next month to give the Justice Department more time for an antitrust review.
Northrop shares rose 17 cents to close at $79.02 on the NYSE.
