Candid Comments About Somers

Reading the City of Angles blurb (Aug. 16) on so-called style guru Fred Segal, I couldn’t believe Segal’s response to whom he thought epitomized Hollywood chic. Suzanne Somers?

All I know is when my mother and I would watch “Candid Camera” every week, we commented on Somers’ inappropriate, tacky outfits. She always tried too hard to look sexy, with negligee-type garments or ultrashort, tight dresses. They were always a topic of conversation and laughter. For Segal to cite Somers as chic is simply ridiculous.
