Fidelity Buys Real Estate Database Creator

Fidelity National Financial Inc. in Irvine said it acquired International Data Management Corp., which created a major real estate information database with Lexis/Nexis. Financial details weren’t disclosed. Fidelity National, the nation’s largest title insurer, said the database, which represents 75% of the total property owners in the U.S., is updated daily with property sales, mortgage information and other changes in property ownership. Fidelity said it will use International Data to provide information for real estate customers. Fidelity stock fell $1.94 Friday to close at $34.06 a share on the New York Stock Exchange.
