In the Golden West League:
No. 2 Santa Ana 61, Saddleback 6--Ramiro Silvar (119), Carlos Huera (135), Jimmy Becerra (171) and Edwin Arvizo (heavyweight) pinned their opponents for the visiting Saints (7-0, 2-0). Hugo Guzman defeated Carlos Guzman, 19-3, in the 103-pound match and Harold Rubio (130) and Wyatt Howard (215) recorded 17-2 victories. Pedro Barajas (112) and Reyes Padilla (125) posted victories for Saddleback (8-2, 1-1).
In the Pacific Coast League:
University 46, Corona del Mar 25--Tim Both pinned Corona del Mar’s Dan Ornguze in 2:46. Both, who lost to Ornguze last year, was trailing, 11-4, after the first period, but came back with a takedown and the pin in the opening minutes of the second period.
University is 7-2, 3-0.
In the South Coast League:
No. 10 San Clemente 33, Capistrano Valley 28--Trailing by one point, the Tritons (20-3, 3-0) prevailed when Joe Samperi pinned Dan Jone in the heavyweight match.
In the Sunset League:
Los Alamitos 32, Esperanza 22--Junior varsity wrestler Daniel Spryszynski, who filled in for flu-stricken Jerome Chiaro, helped visiting Los Alamitos (16-5, 3-0) defeat Esperanza for the first time with a pin of Ryan Jakobson in 40 seconds.
