NORTHRIDGE — A suspected bank robber who was fleeing police was caught Tuesday when his car crashed into another vehicle, injuring the driver, authorities said.
The suspect’s Nissan Maxima struck an Acura Legend at Devonshire Street and Corbin Avenue about 2:30 p.m., said Lt. Gregg Sabalone of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Lost Hills/Malibu station.
Laszlo Michael Gach, 33, of North Hollywood, was treated for injuries and was to be booked on suspicion of bank robbery and felony evading, Sabalone said.
The other driver, a 55-year-oldwoman whose name was not available, was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she was listed in fair condition, deputies said.
Gach allegedly robbed a Bank of America at 5667 Kanan Road in Agoura Hills about 2 p.m. and fled with an unknown amount of money, Sabalone said. Deputies saw his car as he headed east on the Ventura Freeway, and Los Angeles police officers later joined the pursuit, authorities said.
