A man who lost his job in May won’t have to worry about bills: He hit a casino jackpot, winning $2,847,899 playing a slot machine in Shakopee, Minn.
Dennis Michael Kenyon, 56, was playing Wild Cherry Progressive when he won Mystic Lake Casino’s jackpot, a prize that had grown steadily for four years.
Kenyon started playing at 11 p.m. Monday and at 6 a.m. Tuesday he hit the jackpot when three cherries lined up. He put about $200 into the machine.
After taxes, Kenyon, a former administrator, can expect to walk away with about $1.5 million.
