The Cleveland Cavaliers interviewed Fordham Coach Bob Hill for their head coaching job about a month ago, the Akron Beacon Journal reported Saturday. Hill, 52, has a 257-212 record in seven seasons coaching the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs. He was fired in December 1996 after a 3-15 start in San Antonio.
The Houston Rockets exchanged first-round draft picks with the Orlando Magic, completing a complex transaction from 1999.
In the deal, Houston gets the 23rd pick in this year’s NBA draft and Orlando gets the 22nd pick.
As part of the trade, the Magic obtained the 18th pick in this year’s draft from the Phoenix Suns and sent the choice to Houston, which has the 13th, 18th and 23rd picks in the June 27 draft.
