Corinthian Colleges Inc., which operates 56 colleges nationwide, said Tuesday that it was given permission in Florida to grant associate’s degrees in business and bachelor’s degrees in business administration entirely through its online delivery format.
The Santa Ana company, which has been offering courses online since 1999, said in a press release that this is the first time students may complete the course work required to obtain either A.B. or B.B.A. degrees entirely on-line.
The company received approval to grant degrees for the two online programs at its nine Florida Metropolitan University campuses from the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.
Corinthian stock gained 96 cents to close at $45.40 a share on Nasdaq.
