Carlos Ray Garcia, above left, and his attorney, Casey Lilienfeld, appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday for the defendant’s arraignment on charges stemming from a bus hijacking last month. The arraignment was postponed. Garcia was arrested May 2 after the hijacked MTA bus crashed into a minivan, killing its driver, and slammed into a parking lot on Boyd Street in downtown L.A., at left. Before the hijacking, the 33-year-old allegedly shot Anthony Lewis, 34, who is black, because he did not approve of black men associating with Latino women. Lewis is recovering from the wounds. The minivan driver was Guadalupe Arevalos, 34, a mother of three.
