Las Vegas will add 1,000 hotel rooms June 29 when the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower opens a 24-story tower, nearly doubling the hotel’s current 1,444 guest rooms.
The expansion includes a 67,000-square-foot pool and recreation deck with spa; a new lobby; a 300-seat coffee shop; and, scheduled to open by the fall, a 3,750-seat amphitheater. Room rates start at $49. Tel. (800) 998-6937, Internet https://www.stratlv.com.
The $75-million project represents a comeback for the hotel, which claims to have the tallest free-standing observation tower in the U.S. (at 1,149 feet) and was acquired via bankruptcy court in 1998 by investor Carl Icahn.
