A political aide from the Antelope Valley has pleaded not guilty to sex crimes allegedly committed against a 12-year-old boy who was in his care, authorities said Tuesday.
Howard L. Brooks, 61, a field representative for Republican Assemblyman Phil Wyman, was arraigned Monday after turning himself in Friday to sheriff’s deputies.
He is scheduled to return to court as early as Nov. 30 when a judge will hear a motion to reduce his $195,000 bail, said Sandi Gibbons, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
