Orange County Lantronix to Acquire Illinois Manufacturer

Lantronix Inc. in Irvine said Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Synergetic Micro Systems, a privately held maker of products related to factory automation. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Lantronix, which makes technology that connects devices to the Internet, said the transaction is expected to be completed before the end of the year. Synergetic is based in Downers Grove, Ill.
Shares of Lantronix declined $1.08 to $5.57 Thursday on Nasdaq.
