Coyotes Make It to Top of Pacific

Shane Doan had two goals and two assists and Daniel Briere scored twice and had one assist and the streaking Phoenix Coyotes defeated St. Louis, 5-3, Monday night, pulling into a tie with San Jose for first place in the Pacific Division.
St. Louis, which lost its third in a row, remained tied with the idle Kings in sixth with 86 points.
Pavol Demitra and Scott Young had power-play goals for the Blues.
Colorado 5, Nashville 1--Radim Vrbata had two goals and Riku Hahl scored his first NHL goal and the Avalanche won at Denver.
Dallas 3, Columbus 1--Jason Arnott scored his first two goals for the Stars in a span of 1:32 in the second period, and Mike Modano had three assists in a victory at Dallas.
New York Islanders 4, New Jersey 2--Oleg Kvasha and Shawn Bates scored unassisted goals 53 seconds apart in the third period and the Islanders won at Uniondale, N.Y.
Buffalo 3, Philadelphia 1--J.P. Dumont scored with 5:15 left and Miroslav Satan had two goals to lead the Sabres at Buffalo, N.Y.
New York Rangers 6, Tampa Bay 4--Petr Nedved scored two goals to snap an 18-game goal drought and the Rangers won at Tampa, Fla.
Montreal 3, Pittsburgh 0--Jose Theodore shut out the Penguins for the second time this season and Chad Kilger scored a short-handed goal to lead the Canadiens at Pittsburgh.
Toronto 5, Detroit 4--Mats Sundin scored with 1:26 left in overtime and the Maple Leafs clinched a playoff spot with a victory at Detroit.
