Teen’s Hanging Death at School Under Investigation

Police said they are investigating the apparent accidental hanging death of a 15-year-old playing a prank in the Alhambra High School music room as students and teachers were nearby.
Gregory Taggart died Saturday at Childrens Hospital. He had been in a coma since he hanged himself with a guitar strap in the music room’s storage area March 27.
Alhambra police officials said the sophomore was playing a joke in which he simulated a hanging. Police said they are trying to determine whether students or school officials were negligent.
School officials declined to comment.
