Poisoned Fish Seen as a Feast by the Poor

Hungry people in Bangladesh gathered at sewage ponds brimming with dead fish, ignoring warnings from authorities who had poisoned the fish for fear they could be toxic to humans.
Authorities used an herbal extract to kill nearly 6 tons of fish at a sewage treatment plant on the outskirts of the capital, Dhaka.
However, only about a quarter of the fish had been netted and buried by the end of the day. Scores of residents from nearby shantytowns then rushed in to collect the rest.
