Rolen Gives Phillie Fans Good Vibes

PHILADELPHIA — This time, Scott Rolen got plenty of cheers.
Rolen homered and drove in the go-ahead run with a double in the seventh inning Tuesday night, leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 7-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
Mike Lieberthal had two hits and two runs batted in, and the Phillies’ offense finally got rolling with a season high in runs and hits (11).
“I left some runners on base last night and that could’ve carried over,” Rolen said. “I got some pitches to hit and I hit them.”
Rolen, booed loudly after he popped out to second base with one out and a runner on third in the ninth inning of Philadelphia’s 2-1 loss to the Braves on Monday, broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring double against reliever Tim Spooneybarger.
Rolen’s two-run homer off Jason Marquis (1-1) gave the Phillies a 2-0 lead in the first.
Atlanta took a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning when Javy Lopez hit a three-run homer off Philadelphia starter Terry Adams.
