Benefit to Honor Brockovich, Masry

The Environmental Defense Center will honor environmental crusaders Erin Brockovich and Ed Masry at a benefit celebration Saturday at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

Titled “Victory for the Environment,” the event will raise funds for the Santa Barbara-based nonprofit law firm and its efforts to protect the regional environment.

Brockovich and Masry will receive a proclamation presented by Assemblywoman Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara). Also scheduled to attend are representatives of Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks), along with local politicians.

Actor Bill Paxton will serve as host.

The event is open to the public. Individual tickets are $175; a 10-person table is $1,600.
