Red Cross Announces Fund Disbursement

The American Red Cross said 90% of the multimillion-dollar Liberty Fund would be distributed by the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
The agency said $850 million would be distributed to families of those killed or seriously injured in the attacks, as well as displaced residents, disaster workers and people economically affected by them.
The Red Cross said $490 million of the fund has been distributed.
