No Punitive Damages in Prudential Suit

A federal jury awarded $66,105 to two families who sought billions of dollars in damages in a suit charging Prudential Life Insurance Co. with deceptive sales practices.
The jury awarded compensatory damages but no punitive damages in a setback for customers who wanted to put a spotlight on sales that Prudential said were flawed but had been eliminated long ago.
