Thirst for Water

You mischaracterize the Cadiz water grab as a water storage project (“Saudi’s Aquifer Role Criticized,” Jan. 30). It is a plan to suck a desert aquifer dry.
Sure, it can store water, but one just doesn’t spend $150 million in ratepayer dollars for a pipeline to a storage area when the Metropolitan Water District already owns storage areas right next to its Colorado River Aqueduct. It is a water grab.
