Top Surfers Gathering at Surfrider Beach

The U.S. Women’s Pro Longboard Open surfing competition begins Saturday and concludes Sunday at Malibu’s Surfrider Beach. The longboard championships will also feature a masters division, two junior age-group classes and a men’s exhibition.
Surfing will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Kim Hamrock of Huntington Beach, Ashley Lloyd and Julie Cox of Malibu, and defending champion Belinda Baggs of Newcastle, Australia, are expected to compete.
