A Ventura woman who schemed to steal thousands of dollars from her employer has been convicted of eight fraud and theft charges, authorities said.
Katherine A. Bordeaux, 38, was a bookkeeper for Ventura-based Intercontinental Realty when she used two schemes to steal more than $191,000 from the real estate management company, Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury’s office said Thursday.
Bordeaux pleaded guilty to stealing cash deposits made to the company and to forging electronic signatures on checks she wrote to herself, Assistant Dist. Atty. Howard Wise said.
Superior Court Judge Edward Brodie this week accepted Bordeaux’s guilty pleas on two counts of grand theft, one count of forgery, one count of fraudulent use of a computer to obtain property, one count of money laundering and three counts of filing a false tax return.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 14. Bordeaux faces a maximum penalty of up to four years in state prison.
