Kmart Has Loss of $1.02 Billion for April

Kmart Corp. had a net loss of $1.02 billion on $3.2 billion in sales in April, the biggest U.S. retailer to file for bankruptcy protection said in a regulatory filing.
The company had $1.83 billion in cash on hand as of May 1, up $189million from the end of the previous month.
Shares of Troy, Mich.-based Kmart shares rose 2 cents to $1.16 on the NYSE.
