Tom Airey, a former Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley All-Southern Section baseball player, has been hired as an athletic director at his alma mater. He will replace Rich Polk, a co-athletic director, who will remain at the school as its boys’ and girls’ volleyball coach.
Tom White, the other co-athletic director, would not comment on his status for the fall.
Airey was an assistant girls’ basketball coach at Capistrano Valley this season.
In other personnel moves:
* Paul Grady, who guided the Garden Grove Bolsa Grande baseball team to a 3-21 record in his only season at the helm, has resigned to work on his teaching credential, Athletic Director Ron Inman said.
* Newport Beach Sage Hill hired Steve Keith as boys’ basketball coach. Keith, 52, previously coached at Irvine for 12 years, ending in 1999. He also coached at Glendale.
