18 Arrested at DUI Checkpoint

Eighteen people were arrested at a sobriety checkpoint by Costa Mesa police Friday night and early Saturday morning.
The checkpoint, at 19th Street and Newport Boulevard, was in operation from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Police and California Highway Patrol officers screened about 880 of the 3,430 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint. The arrests resulted from 28 field sobriety tests by officers.
