Duck Call May Have Had Them in Hunt

As a high school senior in Tampa, Fla., Mike Williams chose USC over Florida, Florida State, Miami and Purdue.

However, if he had received a phone call from Eugene, Ore., he might be playing against the Trojans on Saturday instead of for them.

“If you asked me, during high school, which school I was most interested in, I would have said Oregon,” Williams said.

“They were just a fun football team to watch and I could see myself there. If they had offered me, I would have committed, based on what I’d seen and how they played.”
