Proposition 47 Funding
The implication in an Oct. 17 letter that Proposition 47 would mostly serve a few large school districts in the state is not correct. In Orange County alone, there are 21 districts that would receive a total of nearly $500 million in new construction and modernization funding from Proposition 47. And Orange County is not alone.
Throughout the state, virtually all counties would immediately receive a substantial infusion of new construction and modernization funding that would exceed $4 billion. Proposition 47 is good for all of California -- urban, suburban and rural -- and would significantly address school facility needs for our students for generations to come.
