Anaheim police arrested a bank robbery suspect Monday after tracking him to a clump of bushes along the Riverside Freeway.
The suspect allegedly robbed a Wells Fargo Bank on Imperial Highway near Santa Ana Canyon Road in Anaheim Hills, police said. The suspect told police he was a 37-year-old resident of Huntington Beach, but authorities have not been able to verify his name, age or address.
Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez said officers arrived at the bank just after the robber had fled on foot.
Several witnesses told police that they had seen him enter a nearby residential area, and one witness subsequently reported seeing a man hiding in shrubbery along the freeway between Imperial Highway and Lakeview Avenue.
An unspecified amount of money was recovered.
