UCLA (2-3) at Northridge (1-3), 7, KIIS (850) -- If teams learn more from losses than wins, the Bruins received quite an education the last two games. They were in position to defeat St. Mary’s and No. 8 Purdue on the road but let both games slip away. Northridge, which lost to Northern Arizona, 68-55, on Monday, is 0-6 all-time against UCLA.

Southern Methodist (2-3) at USC (2-3), 7, Sports Arena -- USC regained some footing with an 82-65 victory over San Diego on Sunday, but Coach Chris Gobrecht wants the Trojans to establish more than home turf. “We’ve got the big challenge of staying focused during a time of year when it’s very hard to be focused,” Gobrecht said. SMU is in the midst of a seven-game road swing.
