BOYS’ BASKETBALL
* Joe Ford, North Hollywood Campbell Hall: He made 13 of 16 field-goal attempts for 31 points, and also had 12 rebounds and six assists for the Vikings (7-0) in an 84-41 victory in a Playa del Rey St. Bernard tournament victory over Kotzembue (Ala.).
* Preston Hutson, South Pasadena: He made a basket with 10 seconds left in overtime and finished with 18 points in a 57-56 victory over Avalon in the Avalon tournament title game.
* Josh Shipp, Fairfax: He made a three-point basket at the buzzer to lift the Lions (7-1) to a 49-46 win over Montrose Christian of Maryland, the No. 7-ranked team in the nation, in the third-place game of the Lolani tournament in Hawaii. Shipp had 20 points, five rebounds and four assists.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Taylor Lilly and Ashlee Trebilcock, Newhall Hart: Lilly scored 17 points and Trebilcock added 14 for the Indians (8-1), ranked No. 12 in the Southland by The Times, as they defeated Reno (Nev.), 59-32, to win the Red Division title in the Tournament of Champions in Chandler, Ariz.
* Brittany Maguire, Simi Valley: She made eight three-point baskets and finished with 26 points in a 66-38 pool-play victory over Ventura St. Bonaventure in the Simi Valley tournament.
* Sade Gatewood, Lynwood: She had 13 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds for the Knights (7-1), who beat Salpointe of Tucson, Ariz., 60-51, for the White Division title of the Tournament of Champions in Chandler, Ariz. Gatewood was the tournament MVP.
* Lauren Frazee, Santa Margarita: She had 11 points and seven rebounds as the Eagles beat Santa Barbara, 47-38, in the Santa Barbara tournament.
BOYS’ SOCCER
* Matt Lewis, Temple City: He scored two goals in a 2-1 victory over Covina Northview and had one goal in a 2-1 loss to Glendora as the Rams split two games in the Chino Don Lugo tournament.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
* Tanya Taylor, Fullerton Sunny Hills: She had two goals and two assists for the Lancers (7-0)in a 4-1 victory over San Gorgonio in their own tournament.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
* Mary Chatigny, Palm Springs: She scored nine goals for the Indians (7-2) in a 15-8 victory over Santa Ynez in the seventh-place game of the Redlands tournament.
