It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Re “Removal of Hanukkah Signs Protested,” Dec. 20: I find it very upsetting reading about the Hanukkah banners taken down in an upscale Thousand Oaks neighborhood because someone was offended. Look around, neighbor. Look all around streets, stores, restaurants. What you see are Christmas red and green decorations. How dare anyone say they are offended because a menorah was on the banner?

There are three holidays in December: Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanza. The children of Jewish families need to see their symbols too, not only those of Christmas. As a teacher of 35 years, I always gave equal representation to the different holidays. Too bad others don’t feel the same way.
