Police Tight-Lipped on Search for Laci Peterson

Modesto police remained tight-lipped Saturday about their search for the 27-year-old woman who was due to give birth to a baby boy next month.
While posters of Laci Peterson, 27, abound on city utility poles and storefront windows, officer searches of area reservoirs, irrigation canals and other waterways have proved fruitless.
Last week, Peterson’s husband, Scott, a specialty fertilizer salesman, became the object of increasing scrutiny when his wife’s family said police had presented them with “very recent” photos of him and a girlfriend.
