Recalling other tours of China

“So Much Asia for So Little” (Jan. 12) brought back fond memories of a similar China Focus trip my daughter and I took a couple of years ago. It is certainly not for those who want a leisurely tour.
We had a different kind of weather problem because we went in the summer. It was blisteringly hot and humid throughout the trip. Spring and fall seem to be the best times to go.
All meals and most side trips are included. The guides are delightful and knowledgeable. I have yet to find another tour that offers so much for so little.

We toured China about 10 years ago, and it was fascinating.
A tip: Get up early and visit Tiananmen Square. In front of the huge building nearest the Forbidden City, dozens of elderly Chinese people play Frisbee in the morning. They wear white gloves and throw Frisbees expertly. No verbal communication is necessary. Just have fun playing catch with them.
