Director fills in on Broadway

Ed Waterstreet, artistic director-executive producer of North Hollywood’s Deaf West Theatre, appeared in a preview of the Broadway production of the company’s “Big River” Wednesday evening. He filled in for an injured actor, Iosif Schneiderman, who was hospitalized after tripping and falling on stage near the end of the matinee performance.Schneiderman was not expected to perform Thursday evening, but as of press time, it was not known whether Waterstreet or another actor would go on in Schneiderman’s three minor roles.
