Royal treatment for the X-Men

Diana, princess of Wales, will be reborn as an X-Men-inspired hero in a Marvel comic, the BBC reports.

Diana will appear in the story line “Di Another Day,” which will be part of Marvel’s monthly “X-Statix” comic.

The princess, who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, will become a powerful mutant in a satire about celebrity.

“At a glance, Diana may not resemble the flying, teleporting, lethally oscillating characters that populate my comic,” writer Peter Milligan said in a statement, “but the same power she exerts from beyond the grave certainly makes her a valid subject to explore. And of course, she looks great in Spandex!”
