House OKs $4 Billion More in Defense Funds

The House approved $369 billion in defense funds for the next fiscal year. The measure would boost defense spending $4 billion above fiscal 2003’s level. It passed on a 399-19 vote with little debate.
The Senate Appropriations Committee is expected to consider a similar bill today and move it quickly to a floor vote.
