Iraqi Prisoners

Re “Justice System Wins Few Hearts, Minds,” July 9: I am old enough to remember World War II and to remember the many protests when Americans learned how their prisoners of war were treated. Right now the Bush administration is treating the Iraqi prisoners just as harshly and no one seems to be paying attention. Keeping prisoners in jail without a trial, without a lawyer, feeding them one meal a day is not the way I thought our country treated people. It is hypocritical of George W. Bush to criticize the abuses of other leaders and then do the same thing himself.
I hope that by 2004 the American people will realize that Bush is a disgrace to our country and send him home to his daddy.
