Don’t overlook library stores

“Seeking Nirvana in a Dusty Bookshelf,” by James Verini (July 17), well highlighted the virtues of used-book stores as an alternative source for book lovers. However, it missed an important resource, the nonprofit stores housed in public libraries such as the Platt Branch in Woodland Hills. Utilizing donated books and volunteer staff, the library stores provide very affordable prices and plow their profits back into the library. Sharon Schuster
