Delta Air Lines’ new low-cost subsidiary, Song, plans to launch service between Los Angeles International Airport and two Florida cities Sept. 3.
Song will have one daily flight each from LAX to Orlando and Tampa, with introductory one-way fares from $119 to $299.
Atlanta-based Delta launched Song on April 15 to fight discount carriers such as Southwest Airlines, AirTran Airways and JetBlue Airways, primarily in the South and East. Song plans 144 daily flights by fall, using its fleet of all-coach Boeing 757 aircraft that have leather seats and other amenities.
