Did George Harrison wear Calvins?

Product placement has become inescapable in movies and on TV, but on Monday night, an audience at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City will welcome it to the world of ballet when American Ballet Theatre dances “Within You Without You: A Tribute to George Harrison.”
Choreographed by five dance-makers, the one-act ballet suite premiered last October at New York City Center with costumes by Catherine Zuber. However, the Met version will add what ABT representatives describe as “a range of cK Calvin Klein jeans, four styles in juniors and women, and three for men,” dyed for the stage in a range of colors but mostly red.
Besides sponsoring the Met performance of “Within You Without You,” Klein underwrote the ballet’s production expenses and held an ABT fund-raiser last fall in his flagship store on Madison Avenue. The ballet will be performed for the first time July 22-24 in Southern California at the Orange County Performing Arts Center -- with the cK denims, company sources say.
