Ceremony to Honor Officers Killed on Duty

Police officers killed in the line of duty will be honored at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Peace Officers Memorial Wall at the Ventura County Government Center in Ventura.
Dist. Atty. Greg Totten will be the keynote speaker.
There will be a reading of the names of the 29 officers listed on the wall. The families of officers James E. O’Brien of the Oxnard Police Department and James C. O’Connor of the California Highway Patrol will be this year’s recipients of commemorative flags.
Attendees at the annual event will include representatives from all law enforcement agencies in the county, including police departments, the Sheriff’s Department, the FBI and CHP.
