Bob Marley’s legacy on film

Just read Baz Dreisinger’s excellent piece on the L.A. reggae scene (“Riding the Reggae Wave,” May 22). But there is one glaring oversight, which is that I produced and directed a feature documentary on the death of Bob Marley and its impact on the Jamaican psyche called “Land of Look Behind.”
Jim Jarmusch and Werner Herzog have cited it as one of their favorite films of the last 20 years, and when it premiered in Jamaica it caused Rasta versus Christian rioting that resulted in the film being banned as too provocative. It featured the debut of Mutabaruka, and beautiful live performances by Gregory Isaacs.
