Robert Passantino, 52; Author, Co-Founder of Evangelical Center

Robert Passantino, 52, who co-founded Answers in Action, a Costa Mesa-based evangelical Christian center that sponsors education and mentoring, and who wrote a number of books on cults, died Monday at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach after suffering a heart attack, said his wife, Gretchen.
Passantino wrote several of his books with his wife, who co-founded Answers in Action with him. Among their best-known is “Answers to the Cultist at Your Door” (1981).
As part of his work, Passantino regularly counseled the parents of children involved with cults.
